With Lara Tarini
A challenging contemporary dance class series focusing on
the fundamentals of ballet, modern and improvisational dance techniques. Supportive methodologies such as Laban Movement Analysis, Ashtanga Yoga postures and Pilates core work are employed to help develop the student’s creative process, class description performance skills and overall physical strength and sustainability. This workshop is intended for intermediate/advanced dance artists who are well-versed in the ballet and/or contemporary dance vernaculars. Participants may be selected to collaborate in Tinari’s TOC project company.
About the artist:
Dance artist, educator and artistic director of the TOC project, Lara Tinari was a former member of Twyla Tharp Dance New York, a Principal with the River North Chicago Dance Company and has also worked with an array of artists including Bill T. Jones, Body Vox and Daniel Ezralow. She was awarded Fellowships in recognition of her professional achievements in dance, choreographic works and academic excellence and received her MFA in Dance through the Hollins University’s alliance with the Frankfurt University for Music and Performing Arts, William Forsythe’s The Forsythe Company in Frankfurt, Germany and The American Dance Festival. Tinari’s teachings and choreographic works have been widely commissioned including, The Joffrey Ballet School New York, Miami City Ballet School, École Supérieure de Ballet Contemporain de Montréal, La La La Human Steps, APAP Festival New York, Dance USA and Festival International de Danse Encore.
