Working collaboratively with the performers, Daniel McCusker develops material that is presented in a series of changing contexts, isolating some elements, magnifying and repeating others. The objective and outcome of his process is not necessarily known and, perhaps, uncertain, but the process, like a trip to another place, can be exhilarating. His non-linear and non-narrative dances are defined by movement and embrace the beauty and possibility of the unexpected. As material is fragmented, rearranged and passed from one performer to the next, it is personalized and reshaped and moments of connection and beauty are revealed where least expected.
